A recent work published in European Heart Journal Entitled Prevalence of statin intolerance: a meta-analysis, showed that statin intolerance is overestimated. The authors concluded after analysis of more than 4 million patients that the prevalence of statin intolerance is low (9.1%) and is even lower when diagnosed using international definitions.
